Three-Part Virtual Training Series

Let’s take the hassle out of planning and meet online! WorQshop has evolved its material to ensure we are offering up-to-date, cutting edge and enticing information to keep participants engaged and informed. With online activities, continuous opportunities for group discussion and accessible online information sharing, participants will enjoy themselves throughout the training and will leave feeling better equipped to offer trauma informed care to the 2SLGBTQIA+ people they serve.

WorQshop 101

In session one, facilitators will begin with gender pronouns, 2SLGBTQIA+ terminology, and some introductory Queer Theory including Phobias & Isms, Cis-Hetero Privilege and Intersectionality.

WorQshop 102

In session two, we will discuss 2SLGBTQIA+ human rights in Canada and what the limitations are of a rights-based approach. Next, we delve into significant events in 2SLGBTQIA+ Canadian history across the country, and make connections between the Queer Theory learned in session one and discrimination/bias in society.

WorQshop 103

In the final session, we are able to adapt the content to be relevant to your organization by offering three different training options for service providers working with youth, seniors, and social services and healthcare workers. We will look at 2SLGBTQIA+ demographics and mental health, as well as discussing the relationship between 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and healthcare and social services.

Each session will include some discussion points about inclusion and diversity in everyday life, and will finish with a question and answer period. Each WorQshop is between 2-3 hours depending on the size of the group and amount of discussion.
